I am a software programmer working at RealVNC with many interests including singing, and am a Christian. Many of my friends remember me as a Part III mathematician at Peterhouse. Find out more or contact me!

David Lawrie's site

David is a lovely man who has been at Eden for the last two weeks, and I had a long chat with him this afternoon. He is very interesting and challenged a lot of the prejudices I want to be rid of. As always, the conclusion is clear that it is always better to speak to people than judge them from their writings.

The WebM Project

Very, very cool. This looks like it will be in FF4 beta in a month’s time, when YouTube will be ready.

Fine Structure (Sam Hughes)

Inverse Graphing Calculator

Very clever! Will fit a curve to any input with funky results.

2.4 Common microsyntaxes — HTML5

Best comment ever in a spec: A year string consists of “four or more” digits. Long termism!

HTML 5 Outliner

Parses document according to HTML5 sectioning model and prints tree

Chrome is fast; also comes with very funny ‘making of’ video.

Official Google Enterprise Blog: More Google applications coming for Google Apps customers

A big piece of Google convergence news: if even profiles get moved over, this could spell the end of separate Apps accounts.

Hixie's Natural Log: Content negotiation in heterogenous XML environments

Hixie on how to handle content-negotiation; more important than ever now, given the importance of RDF to micro-blogging aggregation. Surely though, text/xml is essentially the same as /-xml for the purposes of UAs?
